According to the chief minister, the project will involve an investment of ₹2 lakh crore and have a planned capacity of 3 gigawatts (GW), making it one of the largest data center investments announced in the state.

Fadnavis said the project, backed by Blackstone, is expected to power Maharashtra’s digital infrastructure. He also thanked Consul-General of Australia, Paul Murphy, for being present during the meeting.
“Backed by Blackstone, AirTrunk’s investment will power Maharashtra’s digital future!” it added.
AirTrunk that builds and runs large data centers. Founded in 2015, AirTrunk opened Australia’s first large-scale hyperscale data centers in 2017 and has since expanded across countries in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions.

They store and process huge amounts of digital information used by cloud services, websites, apps and businesses. The company focuses on building reliable, energy-efficient, water-efficient and scalable data centres.
