According to the company, SmartPages uses artificial intelligence to generate complete payment pages based on a simple text description provided by a merchant.
Users can describe their product or service in a few sentences, including in regional languages, and the system automatically creates structured, mobile-optimized checkout pages.
This includes generating product descriptions, selecting relevant input fields such as contact details or shipping information, and arranging the overall page layout.
The company said the tool aims to address common challenges faced by small and independent sellers, particularly the time and cost involved in building online payment interfaces. Traditional website or no-code page builders often require manual configuration and copywriting, whereas SmartPages is intended to automate much of this process.
Speaking on the launch, Deep Agrawal, VP and Head of Payments at PhonePe, said the product is designed to reduce setup time significantly, noting that while conventional website creation or manual no-code tools can take hours or even weeks, SmartPages can generate a functional payment page in a much shorter duration by automating design and content generation.
SmartPages is natively integrated into the PhonePe PG dashboard, allowing merchants to directly access payment processing features, multiple payment options, and real-time transaction analytics without additional integration steps.
The company also indicated plans to expand the capability of SmartPages with more advanced AI features in the future. These may include analyzing a merchant’s social media activity and past marketing campaigns to better understand brand tone and create more personalized, context-aware payment pages.
