The feature, which is being rolled out as an opt-in experience, enables users to ask questions about their money, including queries related to spending patterns, savings, credit scores and financial products.
Google said Ask Google Pay can analyze users’ transaction history and provide insights to help them understand their expenses better. Users can also seek information on topics such as mutual funds, SIPs, compounding interest and differences between tax regimes.
The AI assistant can also help users explore tailored offers, such as identifying suitable credit card options for specific needs like travel expenses.
The feature supports text and voice-based queries and is available in 10 Indian languages, Google said.
Google Pay said the tool is designed to provide financial information and insights for educational purposes, while keeping users’ financial data under their control.
The launch comes as digital payments platforms integrate artificial intelligence tools to offer personalized financial services beyond transactions.
