Tech companies rolled out several updates and launches this week across devices, software and AI tools. From new laptops in India to changes in browsers and smartphones, the focus remains on improving user experience.

There are also updates in AI, gaming and e-readers, along with new features aimed at students and mental health support. Check them below:

MSI launches new laptops in India
MSI has launched two new high-end laptops in India; the Prestige 13 AI+ A3M and the Raider 18 Max HX. The Prestige 13 AI+ is built for people who want a light laptop with AI features and easy portability. On the other hand, the Raider 18 Max HX is made for gaming and comes with a large 18-inch screen.

OPPO F33 Series launch confirmed

OPPO has announced that its F33 Series will launch in India on April 15. The series is expected to include a standard model and a Pro version. The company said the phones will come with a 50MP main rear camera using an OV50D40 sensor. The Pro model will also feature a 50MP front camera.

AI+ Nova 2 Ultra 5G, AI+ Nova 2 5G

AI+ has launched its new Nova series in the Indian market, featuring Nova 2, Nova 2 Ultra, and the Nova Flip 5G. The Nova 2 comes with a starting price of ₹8,999, while the Nova 2 Ultra starts from ₹14,999. The Nova Flip 5G is positioned as one of the most affordable flip smartphones, starting at ₹29,999. The company also introduced its first tablet, the PulseTab. It features a 10.95-inch FHD 90Hz display, quad speakers, dual SIM + Wi-Fi support and an 8000mAh battery.

OnePlus Nord 6

OnePlus launched the OnePlus Nord 6 in the Indian market, with a starting price of ₹ 38,999. The latest device features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 165Hz. The OnePlus Nord 6 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor with up to 12GB of RAM. It has a 9,000mAh battery and supports 80W charging and 27W reverse charging. The smartphone is available in three color options – Quick Silver, Fresh Mint and Pitch Black.

Gemini gets mental health support tools

Google is also adding new features to Gemini AI to help users find mental health support faster. The system can now detect when someone may be in distress and guide them to verified help like crisis helplines. The company also said it is funding efforts to expand mental health services worldwide.

Chrome update adds new features

Google has started rolling out a new update for its Chrome browser. This update brings vertical tabs, which help users organize open tabs more easily. It also includes an improved reading mode that makes web pages cleaner and easier to read by reducing clutter.

Gemini adds captions in Maps Google is updating

Google Maps with new AI features powered by Gemini. The update allows the app to suggest captions for photos that users upload in reviews. It also makes it easier to share content and keep track of activity on the platform.

Adobe introduces Student Spaces

Adobe has launched a new feature called Student Spaces in Acrobat. It helps students organize notes, documents and study material in one place. The feature also uses AI to create summaries and study guides, and supports revision and group work. It is currently free and available in beta.

Starfield arrives on PlayStation 5

Bethesda Softworks, video game company has released Starfield on PlayStation 5. Players on the platform will get the full version of the game, including all updates and the major Free Lanes update.

Spotify expands AI playlist feature

Spotify is updating its AI-based Prompted Playlist feature. Users can now add podcasts along with songs while creating playlists. The feature, still in beta, uses prompts based on user interests, listening habits and trends to build personalized playlists.

Kindle support to end for older devices

Amazon will stop key Kindle Store features on older Kindle devices starting May 20, this year. Devices released in 2012 and earlier will no longer be able to buy, borrow or download new books directly from the store.

Android 17 improves gaming controls

Google is reportedly working on a new feature in Android 17 beta that will improve gaming. It will allow users to remap their controller buttons, triggers and sticks across the system, making gameplay more customizable.
