Vivo S2 India launch tipped for August 6; design, specs and sale date revealed

The Vivo S2 could make its India debut on August 6, according to recent leaks, signaling the return of the company’s S-series smartphones after nearly six years. Ahead of the expected launch, multiple reports have revealed the handset’s likely sale date, color options, design and several hardware specifications.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the smartphone is expected to go on sale from August 11.

It is tipped to arrive in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB storage variants, according to a report in GSMArena.com. It may be offered in Regal Bronze, Sapphire Blue and Silk White color options.
Separately, dummy units shared by tipster PassionateGeekz offer a closer look at the phone’s design. The images suggest the Vivo S2 could feature a curved display and a centrally positioned hole-punch selfie camera. The handset is also expected to have a polycarbonate frame and rear panel.

In terms of specifications, the latest leak points to a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7360 chipset. The rear camera setup is tipped to include a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

Earlier reports painted a different picture, claiming the device would feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and a triple rear camera system comprising a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Reports also suggested the handset could pack a 7,000mAh battery.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, demo units of the smartphone could be priced at around ₹38,000 and ₹42,000, while the 8GB + 128GB variant has been listed at ₹43,000. “Internal retail listings show demo units priced at ₹38,000 and ₹42,000.
